Terms of Service
These terms cover downloading drift, using it, and buying a Pro licence. Plain language on purpose — you should be able to read the whole thing.
Last updated 9 October 2026.
Who you are dealing with
drift is made and sold by an individual based in India, trading as drift (driftmac.com). It is not an incorporated company, and there is no support desk: reaching us means emailing support@driftmac.com, and a person reads it.
“drift” means the macOS application and this website. “you” means whoever is using either.
Agreeing to these terms
Downloading, installing or using drift means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not install it — and if you have already paid, the refund policy applies in full.
What is free and what is paid
Covering your screens, blocking the keyboard and mouse, keeping the Mac awake, and unlocking with Touch ID are free forever. No account, no trial clock, no expiry. We do not undertake to keep any specific free feature free indefinitely, but a version you have already installed will never stop working because of anything we do.
drift Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Nothing recurs and there is nothing to cancel. It adds agent notifications, the away modes, the looks and colour picker, and the break timer.
Your Pro licence
Buying Pro grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use drift Pro. In practice:
- You may install and activate it on the Macs you personally use. It is licensed to a person, not to a device.
- You may not sell, sublicense, rent out or publish your licence key, or share it with people outside your household or with your colleagues.
- You may not attempt to defeat the licence check, or distribute modified copies or generated keys.
- The purchase includes 12 months of updates from the date you buy. After that the version you have keeps working, with its Pro features, for as long as you like — you simply stop receiving new ones.
Your licence is a signed key checked entirely on your own Mac. We cannot remotely disable a copy of drift, and we do not build the ability to. The one exception is a refund: see below.
Delivery
Delivery is immediate and electronic. The moment payment clears, your licence key is emailed to the address you paid with, and it also appears on the page you land on after checkout. Lost it? Get it sent again at driftmac.com/license — instantly, as many times as you need, forever.
There is no physical product and nothing is shipped. Because delivery is instant, you may be asked to acknowledge that your statutory cancellation period begins at once; this does not reduce the refund rights described in our refund policy, which are deliberately more generous.
Payment, price and tax
Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which is the merchant of record for every purchase of drift Pro. Paddle — not us — is the seller of record on your receipt, charges and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT, and is what appears on your card or bank statement. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Paddle’s buyer terms.
Prices are shown in your local currency where Paddle supports it, and the total you confirm at checkout is the total you pay. We may change the price of drift Pro at any time; a change never affects a licence already bought.
Using drift
drift covers a screen and blocks input until you authenticate. Do not use it to lock a machine that is not yours to lock, to obstruct someone else’s access to a shared or work computer, or in any setting where an unattended covered screen could cause harm. It is a convenience for your own Mac, not a security product, and we make no claim that it withstands a determined person with physical access.
Ownership
drift, its name, its icon and its code remain ours. These terms grant you a licence to use the software and nothing more. Anything you do while drift is running — your work, your files, your agents’ output — is entirely yours and never touches us.
No warranty
drift is provided “as is”. We have tested it and we use it daily, but we cannot promise it is free of defects, that it works with every configuration of macOS and every third-party tool, or that it will never interrupt something you cared about. To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties.
Nothing here excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot legally be excluded.
Limits on liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising out of drift is limited to what you actually paid us — which for most users is nothing, and for Pro users is the price of one licence. We are not liable for lost work, lost data, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss.
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting drift. We may terminate a licence that was obtained fraudulently, charged back, refunded, or shared in breach of the licence terms above. Outside those cases we will not revoke a licence you paid for.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top always reflects the last change, and a change never applies retroactively to a purchase already made.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction — except where consumer protection law in the country you live in gives you the right to bring a claim locally, which it may, and which we do not attempt to take away.
