- What's free and what's Pro?
- Covering every screen, blocking the keyboard and mouse, keeping the Mac awake and Touch ID are free, with no account and no expiry. Lid-closed mode, agent notifications, away modes, looks and the break timer are Pro, a one-time licence.
- Can I close the lid?
- With Pro, yes. Close your MacBook, put it in your bag, and everything you left running keeps running. On the free version, closing the lid lets macOS sleep as it normally would.
- Can someone use my Mac while it's covered?
- No. The keyboard and mouse stop working behind the cover, and getting back takes Touch ID, your password or your own shortcut. It is a lock, not a screensaver any keypress dismisses.
- Does the display go to sleep?
- The screen goes fully black, but the Mac underneath stays awake, so nothing you left running is interrupted. Sending the display to sleep is exactly what would stop your work.
- Will my agents keep running?
- Yes. Everything running before you covered the screen keeps running after. With Pro, drift also tells you the moment one stops and needs an answer.
- Which agent tools does it work with?
- Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Cursor and Copilot are found and set up for you. Anything else that can run a command when it finishes works too.
- Does drift send anything anywhere?
- No account, no analytics, no tracking. Your licence is checked on your own Mac, so drift works offline. It goes online to check for its own updates, and once at setup to register the email you give for a reminder before your trial ends.
- Which Macs does it run on?
- Any Mac on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with every display covered, including one you plug in while you are away.
